The woods are black and a wind assails the grasses,
Yet the general tries night archery --
And next morning he finds his white-plumed arrow
Pointed deep in the hard rock.

林暗草惊风， 将军夜引弓。
平明寻白羽， 没在石棱中。
 
[注释]
①平明：天刚亮时。白羽：指尾缚白羽毛的箭。

[赏析]
第二首写将军夜出巡边的情形，以李广射虎的典故描绘将军的勇武。前两句写“夜引弓”为后两句平明寻箭留下悬念，后两句不写是否射中目标，而写引弓的力度，显出将军的神勇。

卢纶
（？～约799），字允言，郡望范阳（今河北涿县）人，后籍贯蒲州（今山西永济县）。卢纶工于叙事，古诗歌行不乏气势，律诗亦洗练明快。
