为纪念“泰坦尼克”百年，澳大利亚矿业大亨克莱夫.帕尔默于2012年宣布出资复建这艘著名邮轮，并签署协议由长航金陵船厂承建，预计2016年沿当年路线进行首航。帕尔默旗下的蓝星航运有限公司16日在港召开记者会，介绍建造“泰坦尼克二号”的最新进展及相关推广②活动。

葛标说，复建“泰坦尼克”确有难度，但船厂拥有超过60年、建造不同类型高品质船舶的经验，拥有一批优秀的③国内外合作伙伴，因此有信心把这艘邮轮建造好。他还透露，整个工程约耗时3年。

根据计划，“泰坦尼克二号”的尺寸将与原型基本相同④，有9层甲板和840间房间，配备多个健身房、游泳池、图书室、高级餐厅和豪华舱室，约可容纳900位船员及2400多位乘客⑤。

Chinese Shipyard to Build Titanic II

A Chinese shipyard will build the Titanic II, a replica of the luxury liner that sank in April 1912 after hitting an iceberg in the North Atlantic Ocean.
Ge Biao, President of the CSC Jinling Shipyard in Nanjing, capital city of east China’s Jiangsu province, made the announcement in Hong Kong on February 16, Xinhua news agency reports.
In 2012, weeks after the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the original Titanic, Australian billionaire Clive Palmer announced at a press conference that he had signed a memorandum of understanding with the Chinese shipbuilder to build the Titanic II.
"It will be every bit as luxurious as the original Titanic, but...will have state-of-the-art 21st-century technology and the latest navigation and safety systems," Palmer said in a statement. He called the project "a tribute to the spirit of the men and women who worked on the original Titanic."
More than 1,500 people died after the Titanic collided with an iceberg during its maiden voyage. At the time, it was the world's largest and most luxurious ocean liner.
According to the plan, Titanic II will be the same size and nearly the same shape as the original vessel. It will have nine decks and 840 rooms with a gym, pool, library, large dining room and luxury cabins, catering to more than 900 staff and crew and 2,400 passengers.
