Du Fu 杜甫

杜甫（公元712-公元770），汉族，河南巩县（今巩义市）人。字子美，自号少陵野老，杜少陵，杜拾遗，杜工部等，盛唐大诗人，世称"诗圣"，现实主义诗人，，一生写诗1500多首，代表作"三吏"（《新安吏》《石壕吏》《潼关吏》）"三别"（《新婚别》《垂老别》《无家别》）。原籍湖北襄阳，生于河南巩县。诗艺精湛，被后世尊称为"诗圣"。
Du Fu (712-770), of the Han nationality, was known under the courtesy name Zimei and pseudonym Shaoling Yelao. He also was known as Du Shaoling, Du Shiyi and Du Gongbu, etc. He was a great poet in the Tang Dynasty, representing realism, and was named as the Sage Poet because of his excellence in poem writing. He wrote over 1500 poems over his lifetime, among which the most representative pieces were the Three Li (three minor officials, including Xin'an li, Shihao li, and Tongguan li) and the Three Bie (three farewell, including Xinhun bie, Chuilao bie, and Wujia bie). With his ancestry origin being Xiangyang city in Hubei province, he was born in Gongxian County (now Gongyi) in Henan province.
